Statement of intent

We took inspiration from Peter Sedgley’s art piece “Colour Cycle III” where he intended to use a circle as the most harmonious and neutral shape that would not distract viewers from the colours crucial in his work. This potential of a circle to be neutral seemed relevant to the idea of our project, where the circle could stand for anything possible, thus turning the image into the audience’s own representation. The interference of our daily lives is metaphorically portrayed as interference between the go-pro, the projection, different shutter speeds and the sound. The circle represents the person watching and the story evolves as it is trapped within the interference. The viewers watch as the circle goes through different journeys of interference and during the end clip you see the circle removed from the box and you think you’re removed from the interference however, you see it appear surrounded by noise and distortion and this shows that you can’t escape it as it is everywhere.
